Boomers Cruise Pack – Tailored Seniors Travel Insurance for Cruises

Australians’ passion for cruising continues to grow.

New data just released by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reveals that 1.25 million Australians enjoyed a cruise holiday in 2023, overtaking pre-pandemic numbers of 1.24 million Australians in 2019. The report also revealed that Australians showed a preference for close-to home itineraries – about 84.8 per cent cruised within Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific during 2023, up from 72.5 per cent in 2019.

There are several reasons Australian’s like to holiday at sea:

  1. Scenic Routes: Australia boasts stunning coastlines and picturesque destinations like the Great Barrier Reef, which make for fantastic cruise routes. Cruising allows Australians to explore these beautiful locations conveniently.
  2. Relaxation and Leisure: Cruises offer a chance to unwind and enjoy a vacation without the stress of planning logistics. With various onboard activities like spa treatments, entertainment shows, and gourmet dining, cruising provides a perfect opportunity for relaxation and leisure.
  3. Value for Money: Many Australians find cruises to be a cost-effective way to travel, as they often include accommodation, meals, entertainment, and transportation to multiple destinations in a single package.
  4. Family-Friendly Options: Cruises cater to families with a range of activities for both children and adults. From kids’ clubs to family-friendly excursions, cruises offer something for every member of the family, making them an attractive option for Australian families.
  5. Social Experience: Cruises provide an excellent opportunity for socializing and meeting new people. Australians, known for their friendly and sociable nature, often enjoy the communal atmosphere onboard cruise ships.
  6. Accessibility: With major ports located in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth, cruises are easily accessible for many Australians. This accessibility makes cruising a convenient option for those looking to explore both domestic and international destinations.

Overall, the combination of stunning destinations, onboard amenities, and social atmosphere makes cruising a popular choice for many Australians seeking a relaxing and enjoyable holiday experience.
